Stop! Miller time… – Miller Kustom Upholstery

A few weeks ago I met with Marcel Miller of Miller Kustom Upholstery. He works from a very cool workshop located in Zutphen, the Netherlands.

The Miller Kustom Upholstery Workshop

The shop is divided into three different areas.

  • A chill area with a full size air hockey table.
  • A little shop where you can buy his products, cool t-shirts and all kinds of accessories.
  • A dedicated area where all the hard work gets done, obviously.

In this part of the workshop you’ll find the type good old machinery that will last forever. I’m convinced being in an environment like this this will carry over into the work that is done.

Marcel Miller

Marcel is a big collector of cool stuff which is all displayed in his shop. When I arrived I didn’t know where to look first, because there was so much to see. From star wars merchandise to hot wheels cars, name it and you will probably find it. Hanging out in his shop will give you that cool kustom vibe, we know from visiting a good show.

He is an easy going guy who loves everything about kustom culture and visits as many events as is possible without neglecting his wife and kids. You’ve probably seen his custom split screen VW bus at some event.

It’s safe to say that Marcel is a well trained and skilled upholsterer. His main work is upholstering seats for choppers and cafe racers, but if you need a new car interior, have your old furniture revamped, or need an apron to wear in you workshop, he’s the man to call!

History

While he was working for Kieft & Klok he started making seats for Short Cut Choppers. Soon people noticed the quality he could deliver. News spread quickly about where to get your seat done. From there it snowballed into starting his own business. Now he’s making a decent living out of doing what he likes to do most. He even has the time to go to church on Sunday (true story ;))
